Your Path On Becoming A Vegetarian

For a very huge number of people they view vegetarianism as a way of life. They stated that being a vegetarian is a choice, a choice that makes you who you are. a vegetarian’s life is pretty much simple. There are people that limit their diet on just vegetables and fruits, and if you think of it hard enough you’ll be surprised of what the benefits gained by vegetarians and the facts that makes it one of the most controversial nutritional practices today.

More and more people are getting into that vegetarian lifestyle. It became publicly known that even some celebrities from around the world endorses or promotes vegetarianism, and obviously because of the good benefits that goes along with it, more people are answering the call and trying out to be one.

Types of Vegetarian today.

There are few types of vegetarian that currently existing today, and if you are a starting vegetarian or a disciplined long timer, knowing on which kind of vegetarian type do you belong is one of the essentials that you need to know. Here is a simple list of currently vegetarian types that existed today:

Vegans, or strict vegetarians. These people consume no animal products, including no eggs or dairy products, but eat only food from plant sources: grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. They are only about 2 percent of American “vegetarians.”.

Ovalactovegetarians. They avoid all meat but include in their diet eggs and dairy products, along with all foods from plant sources. Groups that advocate avoidance of animal slaughter generally subscribe to this practice.

Lactovegetarians. This group eliminates only meat and eggs, not dairy products. This form of vegetarianism is practiced by groups such as Hare Krishnas, some Yoga groups, and Trappist monks.

Semi- or partial vegetarians. Such people usually refuse red meat but may include chicken and/or fish along with ovolacto-vegetarian fare, and small amounts of meat.

Classifying the level or type of one’s vegetarianism solely on the consumption or exclusion of animal food does not take into account the additional diet changes practiced by many grown-up vegetarians. For example, some vegans eat only 100 % raw plant food.

One community, fruit-eaters as they call themselves, limits diet to fruits, seeds, nuts, fresh honey, olive oil, and in most cases, whole grains. Some individuals often devise their own eclectic mixes. Other persona frequently associated with vegetarianism include the use of “organically grown” or naturally grown foods, avoidance’s of refined sugar and processed foods, use of mega-dosages of vitamin supplements, and inclusion of certain foods in the misguided or superstitious belief that they have special health benefiting or disease-preventing properties.

Eating from all vegetarian food groups means you have a well balanced diet.
